Now that Google apps has been officially released (it's been in beta for quite some time now), let's see how it gets used in the enterprise world. There are a couple concerns from security to ease of use since most people are not yet that used to using full-fledged web-based apps other than email. I think it's a step in the right direction and innnovation in this space will be exciting. The advantages can outweight the initial discomfort --- redundant & automatic backups and not being tied down to your machine (access your workspace from anywhere, from a mac or pc or even linux). If you haven't seen it yet, check out Google Apps.
Photoshop online coming soon --- just saw this today. I teach Digital Photography and Photoshop at the Columbia & Ellicott City senior centers and at the Columbia Art Center and some of the issues we discuss is when to upgrade when the latest version comes out and getting students to upgrade (or even buy) the latest version. Having an online version may be a solution to some of these issues --- that's another advantage for end-users --- not having to worry about upgrades and patches since they'll be done for you automatically.
